One Goal

+Write it

We started writing our own content as a team of three Māori women wanting to see more shows that delivered content that was dope. All three of us managed to achieve what we wanted.

Everything is focused on our indigenous stories and capturing the imaginations of our Māori Kids.

+Shoot it

Finding wāhine Māori who can kōrero Māori and direct & shoot in the field is a rare find. We don’t often get to do it, but we can and do as often as the opportunity arises.

We also work with talented professional freelancers who we trust to deliver Māori stories and kaupapa.

+Cut it

We do all our own editing of video content, with 20+years experience between us.

Operating as Mokomoko Media, we work with all TV Networks, small businesses, independent production houses, and content creators to help finalise their stories.

The objective of all content made is always to connect to the specific demographic that identifies your audience.

The audience we love making video content & events for are our Māori speaking, Te Ao Māori thinking kids.

    Big picture we’ve been working on in the background is #MāoriKids. A space for our kids to experience adventures with our taiao - hunting, fishing, foraging, and camping survival skills. As a camp, event, and interactive website.

    Wife team Janice & Rāhera have been finding ways not to grow up. Both of us have been working in NZ Screen Industry for 20+ years as television editors who multitask as directors, writers, and producers.

    Event Management

    Driven by a love of Māori Performing arts and our Māori kids shinning on stage, Rāhera has been a volunteer for all Kapa Haka events in Tāmaki Makaurau since 2005.
